Dubai Police has announced plans to use Google Glasess to issue fines to motorists and identify wanted cars.
The wearable tech, compatible with both Android and iOS platforms, comes with a display that mirrors the effect of a 63.5cm HD screen placed 2.4 metres from the user, and features a 5MP camera.
Dubai Police officers will be able to click photos of traffic offenders by double tapping the edge of Google Glass frame and the photos will be automatically sent to a central database via a custom app, Gulf News reports. The second app will enable cops to look at number plates, which will be automatically be referenced from the central database of wanted or stolen cars and will raise a flag in case the number plate is found on the database. Google Glass is currently available in the US for $1,500.
