As the Middle Eastern e-commerce websites look to accelerate sales, they are still struggling with payment options. Initially, Cash on delivery (COD) is encouraged by websites to create
confidence among consumers to buy online. However, the expectation is that eventually consumers would start paying online. Cash on delivery some how defies the e-commerce model; it locks up working capital and increases risk exposure of a e-commerce website.
On the other hand a consumer may still feel comfortable to use the COD facility as it allows them to change their mind.
