Yesterday Google announced on its blog the launch of offline language packages for (2.3 and above) with support for fifty languages, from French and Spanish to Chinese and Arabic.
There are a number of offline translation apps available, however if you are in love with Google you can select [Offline Languages] in the app menu to see all the offline language packages available for download. To enable offline translation between any two languages, you just need to select them in the offline languages menu. Once the packages are downloaded, you’re good to go.
The offline models are not efficient as their online equivalents, however they are perfect for translating when you have poor reception or without mobile data access. Google also offers a Translate app for iOS, but we don’t know when this version will get an offline mode.
