According to research by Gigya, Facebook is the most popular network for people using their social media profiles to log-in to websites, accounting for around 53% of social log-ins globally in the first quarter of 2014.
G+ is the second most popular, accounting for 28 per cent, followed by Yahoo (13 per cent), Twitter (four per cent) and LinkedIn (one per cent).
“During the last two quarters, Facebook has seen a three per cent growth in its share of e-commerce social logins making it by far the most dominant player, with 77 per cent of all logins. Facebook’s growth hasn’t just been limited to e-commerce either, with strong gains in consumer brands, travel and hospitality,” said Patrick Salyer, CEO of Gigya.
Middle East and Africa Stats
As for the Middle East Africa region, Facebook leads the way with 78% (an increase of 3% from Q4 2013), followed by Google/Google+ which dropped by 4% from Q4 2013 reaching to 9%, then Yahoo with 6%, and finally Twitter with 4%.
