Meerah Ketait missed out an opportunity to represent Zayed Universtity at a conference in US due to personal reasons and decided that no one else should go through such an experience. She promised herself that come may whatever she would help people watch live conference from home if they can’t make it to the event location. She along with Azza Al Nuaimi and Sarah Al Qasimi decided to set up Mindtalk.ae
It was co-founded with the expatriates Christiane Schloderer and Satheesh Kumar last October during StartUp Weekend.
The web portal has won praise from the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, which last year named it “Most Innovative Idea”
Tfour.Me got in touch with Ms Ketait online to know more about the startup. Ms Ketait says “MindTalk basically broadcasts events and conferences and offers the networking option through the virtual chat as well as the integration of social media. You can ask questions, discuss and share interests with all of the online participants while watching the event live. This is just phase number 1 , we are planning to have a vice-versa live feed where an online viewer can be a speaker or ask questions through audio and video from his/her place. So far we have broadcasted startup weekend Dubai and Abudhabi but we are extending to more events/conferences”
The startup targets women and other people who cannot physically be at the event. The website offers interactive chat session for the viewers to discuss the event proceedings.
