LG Enters The Smart Phone Race With G2 – A Review

LG a global leader and technology innovator, entered the next big league of smartphone with the launch of their most powerful device – LG G2 – at a grand event in Dubai, UAE. This is the first revolutionary smartphone introduced under LG’s new “G” series for premium devices, exemplifying LG’s aim to bring forth more customer-centric innovations.

LG has introduced the first-of-its-kind Rear Key, a unique ergonomic and biometric design approach that would redefine the very fundamentals of smartphone usage. This smartphone design revolution makes LG G2 the first smartphone to be completely devoid of side buttons.

Almost every smartphone on the market has a power button on the side or top but LG has thrown the rule book out of the window. The power and volume keys, collectively known as the Rear Key, are all places on the back

While the LG G2 isn’t waterproof like Sony’s phones, it still has a few tricks beyond the usual and now standard combination of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G support. First of all, the G2 has an infrared transmitter so you can control things like TVs and Blu-ray players from the phone.

This great device can principally display three apps at one time with its distinctive, fast app switching capability- a genuine motive to make people want to switch.

The Edge-to-Edge Display, Sapphire Glass Lens and Narrow Bezel. Other high performance features of the phone include Quick Window, Guest Mode, Studio Quality Hi-Fi Audio Zoom, OIS Camera and Knock-On feature for turning it on/off.

The LG G2 stands out with its 13MP super-resolution camera, in a slim design without a protruding lens. Check out the below video produced by LG detailing it’s camera features. It’s a great camera but not as good as Nokia Lumia series.

The LG G2 is the first smartphone on the market today to feature a 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi playback that reproduces studio-like quality sound without distortion, so that user can hear a level of audio realism that hasn’t been possible before in a smartphone.

The Slide Aside feature enables easier multitasking by simply “sliding” open apps off to the side using a three-finger swipe, while the Guest Mode protects owner’s privacy by displaying only pre-selected apps when guests access the phone with a secondary unlock pattern.

LG has been running an offer since 26th September wherein customers can return any 5-inch smartphone and get an LG G2 free, and will run until stocks last at premium select retail outlets across the UAE.
