Polar Bear Pitching, the world’s coolest startup event, will be held for the third time from February 10 - 11th, 2016 in the capital of Northern Scandinavia, Oulu, Finland. This year the event has grown from a pitching competition to a two-day Arctic Adventure for startups, investors and media. The goal of the event is to help startups to secure investment and find the right tools to succeed in the global market as well as for investors to grow their portfolios.
Startups around the world are encouraged to apply by sending a short video greeting together with their application. 20 finalists are selected to meet with global investors and media on Wednesday February 10 at the Arctic Race and Media Mingle, and to pitch from the ice hole on Thursday February 11. Application deadline is January 22, 2016.
In addition to the €10 000 cash prize, the winner will receive valuable services and become part of Catapult's portfolio company and their international Guru Network. Over 60 percent of the startups that have participated in previous Polar Bear Pitching events, have secured the funding they need to run their businesses.
”This year we wanted to bring new tools for the startups to succeed in the global market by organizing the Ice Breaker Day with workshops, matchmaking and training by international mentors such as HB Siegel from Amazon and Jennifer Hicks from Forbes,” comments Christian Sundell, chairman of the Midnight Pitch Fest. ”We will also give the world stage for the startups by live streaming the ice hole pitching competition. To make the event even bigger, we hope to have live stream studios in various startup hubs around the world,” Sundell continues.
Polar Bear Pitching is organized by Midnight Pitch Fest in collaboration with local professionals and organizations. The event has grown into a global phenomenon with worldwide live stream studios around global startup hubs.
